Vacation Shirt Patchwork Kantha

We are proud to offer a very special edition of 3sixteen's Vacation Shirt, in celebration of their 20th anniversary - Happy 20th to our friends at 3sixteen! The Patchwork Kantha Vacation Shirt highlights some of India's most traditional handcrafting methods, through which 3sixteen have created one of the most unique fabrics we have seen pass through the shop. Not only is the double-cloth quilt one of the best shirting fabrics you have ever seen, it is also one of the most comfortable - as the quilting would suggest! We are very excited to be stocking such a unique shirt featuring these traditional labour-intensive handwork processes.

This piece incorporates some very special fabrics and techniques, highlighting traditional Indian quiliting and Kantha hand stitching, courtesy of 3sixteen's artisan partners. This shirt was born after their factory created a one-off sample using FW21 fabric scraps, which was so well-liked by the team that they have reproduced that same cotton/linen fabric and dye for this full run. Said fabric is then sent out to traditional quilters who assemble the fabric and craft large quilts from it, which are then detailed using the traditonal decorative kantha sitching method. Following all of this handiwork, the unique quilts are then cut and sewn into these breathtaking Vacation Shirts, of which no two are alike.
