For their 25th Anniversary Samurai have beefed up their well-loved S510XX 21oz Regular Straight model to a super heavyweight 25oz selvedge denim, fully adorned with special Samurai anniversary details! That 21oz model is one of our best-sellers as well as a staff favourite, so we had to get our hands on this very special 25oz Anniversary jean, and we sure are glad we did. This denim features the extra-thick yarns and classically vintage woven texture that make their 21oz denim so very good, just beefed up to an extra degree. As such you can be sure that these will boast not only comparable, but superior durability, texture, and fading potential relative to the core model.
This is a special, beefed up version of an already special denim, with some extra-special details included for Samurai's 25th Anniversary, all in reference to the very famous Battle of Ganryujima from Japanese history, a famous duel that occured in 1612 between Musashi Miyamoto and Kojiro Sasaki, two of Japan's most famous Samurai, on Ganryu Island. This is one of the most legendary and well-known battles in Japanese history. It is said that Musashi was late to the battle, and yet was victorious at the end of the day, having defeated Kojiro with a wooden sword crafted from an oar. The story of their incredible duel has been recorded and illustrated upon the exclusive pocket bags present on these "Ganryujima" jeans, while also featuring some very special golden Samurai buttons and an exclusive "Ganryujima" leather patch, depicting Musashi and Kojiro's duel.
